Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997)

Mao, 1971, edition of 150, published by Richard Kasak and Citadel Press, New York (Corlett, 104). Signed and dated "rf Lichtenstein '71" in pencil l.r., numbered "50/150" in pencil l.l., artist's dry stamp l.r. Lithograph in red and black on Arches paper with watermark, image size 23 1/16 x 16 15/16 in. (58.5 x 40.3 cm),Plexibox frame (cracked) accompanies the lot.
Condition: Deckled edges to three sides, subtle toning and pinpoint fox marks to the margins.

N.B. The lot is accompanied by the book The Adventures of Mao on The Long March by Frederic Tuten, as well as the three black and red text strips with which the print was originally packaged. In addition, a deluxe edition of Tuten's book with an accordion binding, signed, numbered, and dedicated in ink by the author is included (Corlett, III.11).
