Hand-woven Three-color "Damask" Beiderwand Coverlet, Andrew Kump, Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania, 1849, two-piece coverlet woven with red, light green, and navy blue stripes ornamented with flowers and leaf designs, with flowering vine borders on three sides, the maker's name, location, and date woven in two corner blocks, (wear, losses, toning),approx. 84 x 88 in.

Provenance: Purchased at Skinner, March 31, 1978.

The coverlet's wool yarns worn thin in several places especially along edges, with a few gouges on the edges and stitches missing from bound edges, partial seam separation down center,
