Art Deco Diamond and Gem-set Brooch, J.E. Caldwell & Co., designed as a jade jardiniere with marquise-, transitional- and single-cut diamond bonsai tree, onyx accents, further set with baguette-, transitional-, and single-cut diamonds, and calibre-cut sapphires, all on rock crystal ground, millegrain accents, 1 3/4 x 1 3/8 in., numbered, signed J.E.C+Co.
Overall very good barring wear commensurate with age. One marquise with minor nick at point, very unobtrusive, and another diamond melee with minor nick, both possibly from the setting. One sapphire very slightly abraded. Crystal with some very minor edge nicks, quite small and unobtrusive, partictularly by the screws, and is slightly loose, as is the jardinaire. All issues superficial. Obscured number, possibly M3848? or 949?
