American Church Bass, c. 1840, labeled ...WARRANTED BASS & DOUBLE BASS VIOLS, MANUFACTURED & SOLD BY D.M. & L. DEARBORN, OPPOSITE THE AMERICAN HOUSE, CONCORD, N.H., length of back 84 cm.

Open crack at left lower bout and crack on right upper bout. Missing purflings. Open sound post crack in back. Upper left rib has an open crack. Lower left rib has several open cracks. Lower right rib has numerous cracks. The C bout rib is cracked towards the lower corner. Cracked neck foot. Poorly glued fingerboard. Part of the left side of the scroll is missing and cracked. Right side of scroll edge has been damaged in three different spots. Multiple openings. Warped bridge. Top has an open joint at lower bout. Top has several open cracks. Unrepaired sound post crack. Needs cosmetic work.
