Large sheet, inscribed on both sides. To Albert Gallatin, discussing discrepancies between various standardized units of measurements in great detail, with an eye to converting the English to the metric system. Single sheet, toned, with slightly darker rectangular shadow visible on the verso, slight bleed-through, and two small spots of moisture, matted and framed, with a portrait of Adams, 12 1/2 x 7 1/2 in.
