Classical Gilt Gesso Convex Mirror, England or America, early 19th century, the ebonized carved eagle with outstretched wings on a foliate-flanked plinth holds in his beak gilt ball festoons which are joined to the circular cove-molded frame with ebonized reeded liner and mirror glass, flanked by enleafed metal and wood candle arms with colorless glass bobeches and teardrops, with acanthus and pineapple-carved pendant below, original gilding, ht. 38 in.
