Buddhist Textile Panel Depicting The Western Paradise, China, 18th/19th century, the vertical panel very finely embroidered with Amitabha Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a cliff, with his right hand in bhumisparsha mudra and his left held vertically in front of his chest, surrounded by a ring of eleven seated Bodhisattvas, with nineteen seated below the cliff in four rows and three attendants stepping in clouds above, the background and details all worked with couched gold and silver threads, 61 x 16 in., with brocade border.
