Wrought Iron Goffering Iron, Rush Light, and Torch Stand, America and Continental, 18th century, the goffering iron was used to iron ruffles on garments, with turned hardwood handle, the iron receptacle on tapered shaft supported on four arched legs with brass shell feet; a rushlight with twisted scissors-form holder with faceted weight mounted on a dark- stained turned maple base; and a torch or flambeau stand with hanging hook and scroll ornamented shaft with spring-activated adjustable holder, on a slightly dished leaf-form base with scrolled tripod feet, ht. 12 1/4, 11 1/8, 18 in.
