Description:

Diminutive Queen Anne Tiger Maple Slant-lid Desk, possibly Connecticut, early 18th century, the thumb-molded lid opens to an interior of eight valanced compartments and four drawers, on a case of two short drawers centering the slide which supports the lid, and two drawers below, all on bracket feet, replaced Queen Anne-style brasses, old refinish, (imperfections),ht. 37, writing surface ht. 26 1/2, wd. 34 3/4, dp. 17 1/2 in.

several patches on lid near hinges; hinges are butterfly hinges, but old replacements, patches to thumbmolding, two feet broken off and reattached; two added glueblocks to underside. case sides attached to bottm with massive dovetails.
