Federal Mahogany Inlaid Patent Timepiece, Simon Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1810, the case with crossbanded and string-inlaid frames, the throat tablet lettered "PATENT," and pendulum box below lettered "S. WILLARD'S/PATENT," with brass eight-day weight-driven movement, (restoration),ht. 32 3/4 in.

Provenance: Gift from J. Cheney Wells to Wells Historical Museum, 1937 (J. Cheney Wells Purchase, 1931).

Glass restored, dial relined, finial replaced.
