Needlework Band Sampler, "Mary Ann Chapman Green Aged 8 years & 3 Mo./February th 22 1809," wrought with silk threads and wool yarns on a linen ground, stitched with rows of alphabets, bands depicting an assortment of flowers, hearts, trees, fruit, animals, stars, acorns, and crowns, and two pious verses, enclosed in a diamond pattern border, (scattered losses and small holes, toning),17 3/4 x 11 3/4 in., in a period painted wood frame.
