Description:

Shaker Red-painted Oval Covered Box, probably New England, mid to late 19th century, pine top and bottom with bent maple sides joined with four fingers facing left, and copper tacks, appears to have original paint, (imperfections),ht. 3 7/8, 6 1/2 x 9 in.
Estimate $600-800

6 1/2 in. horizontal crack on cover band about 1/4 in. from top on one end of oval, and a 1 in. horizontal and 1/4 vertical crack on nailing on the other end; water stains showing uneven coloration on sdes and interior.
