Description:

George Washington Dressed Figural Memorial, possibly Philadelphia, late 18th/early 19th century, the standing effigy depicted wearing a velvet tricorn hat, lambs wool wig with braid, blue wool jacket with brass buttons and gilt metal braided trim, cotton frilled shirt, cream-colored silk waistcoat and breeches, silk stockings, leather shoes and sword scabbard, composed of cut-out card, the face painted with watercolor, some areas stuffed with wool batting, the whole mounted on teardrop-shaped wool segments with ruffles, cut scallop, and sawtooth edges, with braided gilt-metal trim and hanger, (imperfections),ht. 16 1/4, wd. 9 in.

Figure is missing hand, small bit of paper missing on nose, crease on cheek, fabrics frayed on waistcoat and breeches, shirt, ribbon, jacket lining, the light fabrics show some stains, most of stockings are gone with wool batting showing through,
