Charlestown Pottery Stoneware Jug, Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, Massachusetts, 1812-c. 1827, ovoid vessel with reeded neck, the top and bottom dipped in ochre stain, the shoulder impressed "CHARLESTOWN" over three impressed shield-shaped devices, (chips), ht. 16 1/4 in.
The stone ware jug has a 1/4 x 1 in. chip to lip near handle, 1/2 in. lip chip, and several old small chips to base edge, indented area in the making on the front below the design, 1 x 5/8 chip on side.
