Italian Rococo Inlaid Serpentine Slant-lid Desk, 19th century, slant-lid with a bone-inlaid figural scene, enclosing an interior veneered in olivewood, above a case with three drawers, faux-ivory-inlaid throughout with grotesques, foliate scrollwork, and figural scenes to each side, ht. 40, wd. 41, dp. 22 in.

Extensive loss, lifting,and patches to veneer and faux-ivory (particularly evident along key holes and top surface). Feet probably replaced. Usage wear to interior, also with loss to hardware. Segment of lower right molding broken but present. Faux-ivory with apparent striations, though too discolored on the surface to accurately determine material.
