Italian Inlaid Walnut Pedestal Desk, mid-19th century, top faux-ivory-inlaid with a figural scene of fashionable ladies and gentlemen, with a central frieze drawer, raised on two pedestals, each with a shelved interior and inlaid to front and side with a single figure, ht. 31 1/2, wd. 49 1/2, dp. 24 1/2 in.

Veneer and faux-ivory with extensive loss, lifting, flaking and patches (particularly to top and right side). Crack through center of top panel with associate damage to inlay. Usage wear to top surface and pedestals. Right pedestal with separation to right border panel (held to piece by hinge),one panel also replaced.
