Kipling, Rudyard (1865-1963) The Jungle Book. London: Macmillan & Co., 1894.
First edition, with frontispiece, illustrated throughout by Kipling, Drake, and Frenzeny, bound in publisher's blue cloth with gold stamping, three elephants with riders on the front cover; Rikki Tikki and Nagaina on the spine, a.e.g., bookplate inside front board and an inscription dated 1894 on ffep, "Jack Alden, Paris"; text block shifted forward slightly, outer cloth cracking a little along the back joint, some scattered foxing to title and occasionally to text leaves, 7 1/2 x 5 in.
