Description:

Kestner Open-mouth Bisque Head Character Boy, Germany, impressed "P made in Germany 10" to back of head, sleeping blue glass eyes, painted open mouth with two inset teeth, blonde mohair wig, fully jointed composition body, with ivory tie-neck silk blouse under rust-colored jacket and matching trousers, beige leather shoes, and beige felt hat with mauve ribbon, ht. 17 1/2 in.
Estimate $200-300

Unmarked but characteristic of mold 143. Original plaster pate not removed. Head lit externally - very faint line back of head from neck to crown, appears to be in the making. No apparent hairlines.
