Eight Ninth-plate Daguerreotype Portraits of Gentlemen in Five Union Cases, one depicting two young men wearing stovepipe hats and smoking cigars, one of a man wearing a stovepipe hat and a heavy coat, three cases with two portraits: the first of a young man wearing a hat and a bearded man wearing an earring, possibly honing a knife, the second depicting two men wearing stovepipe hats, one with white hat, the other wearing a black hat and an overcoat, the last depicting two men wearing hats, one a stovepipe, the other a shorter top hat; mounted in four different "Scroll" pattern Union cases, and one "Geometric" (Krainik 511, 488, 425, 447, 541), Union case, (imperfections).

Each portrait with varying degrees of edge tarnish and dust.
Two young men wearing hats and smoking cigars- minute bend l.l., Couple- small scratches to glass surface.
Man wearing a stovepipe hat and a heavy coat- small scratch on coat, few minor spiders.
Three cases with two portraits:
1.Young man wearing a hat- scattered small scratches, spiders, and corrosion spots. Bearded man wearing an earring and whittling a piece of wood-scattered small scratches, spiders, and corrosion spots.
2.Two men wearing stovepipe hats, one white hat- a few unobtrusive light scratches and a few small spiders; wearing a black hat and overcoat- minute bend. l.l., a few unobtrusive light scratches and a few small spiders
3.Two men wearing hats: one w/ stovepipe hat- small bend l.l., scattered conecting spiders.
one w/shorter top hat- good.
