Description:

Silver Mounted Violin Bow, the round stick unstamped, weight 61 grams.
Provenance: Michel Sasson.
Michel Sasson (1936-2013) performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Cairo Symphony when he was eight years old. He received his musical education at the Paris Conservatory, studying with Nadia Boulanger and others, and completed post-graduate studies at the New England Conservatory.
After joining the Boston Symphony in 1958 at age 22, he went on to found the Newton Symphony and eventually became Music Director of the Boston Ballet, with conducting appearances at the American Ballet Theater and La Scala.

No visible breaks or repairs in stick. Wear to top of frog at silver lining. Hairline fracture to thumb projection on player's side. Split in ebony adjuster, slight loss to large collar of adjuster.
