Gilt-lacquered Brush Holder, China, 19th century, quatrefoil shape, the exterior decorated in a continuous scene of bats in flight amongst clouds, with Eight Buddhist Symbols interspersed, all between brocade bands of curvilinear borders, gilt on black lacquer, Qianlong six-character mark engraved on the base, ht. 6 1/2, dia. 6 1/2 in.
