Description:

Ivory Okimono of a Fisherman, Japan, 19th/20th century, enjoying the moment of his catch, probably holding a fishing pole (now missing) connected by a line to the jumping fish around his left knee, incised details of his garment, fish, and basket are colored light brown, signed on base, ht. 7 1/8 in.
Estimate $500-700

Two hairliine cracks on top of the head and around the left shoulder. Missing probably a fishing pole.
