Pair of Bronze Yoke Bells, China, possibly Western Zhou Dynasty (1046-771 BC),each with pierced round top supported by a tapered rectangular base, with verdigris throughout, ht. 4 7/8 in.
Provenance: Acquired by an American missionary working in Japan during the late 1940s.
Note: No technical examination done. Similar to the pair on display in Gallery 207 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (accession # 1986.232.1).
