Signed l.l.
Watercolor on paper, sight size 11 1/2 x 6 in. (29.2 x 15.2 cm),framed.
Two early paper labels for Hammer Galleries, Inc., New York, a third paper label with handwritten inventory numbers, and the Cyrillic initials "T.N." in pencil to the reverse. Condition: Not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Purchased from Father David of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Duquesne, Pennsylvania. In a letter, a copy of which accompanies the lot, Father David relates that he purchased the watercolor from Vincent Nesbert, a professor of art at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh. According to the letter, Nesbert's widow claimed the painting was originally in the personal collection of Tatiana Nicholaevna and that her late husband purchased it from Hammer Galleries, New York.
