Russian Silk and Metallic Brocade Panel, 19th century, with silver, gold, and polychrome silk threads woven in a pattern of crosses, flowers, baskets filled with heads of wheat, and leaves, composed of four separate fragments sewn together and finished with a metallic binding, 82 1/2 x 22 1/2 in.
Provenance: Purchased in 1934 as an Imperial altar runner by Mrs. George W. Deegan from the Hammer Collection of Russian Imperial Treasures at Marshall Field & Co. A letter and description relating to the sale accompany the lot.
