Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Service, New York, 1891-1907, tray and kettle dated 1902-07, all other pieces 1891-1902, each repousse chased with bands of flowers, scrolls, and acanthus leaves, a kettle on stand with burner, coffeepot, teapot, covered sugar, creamer, waste bowl, and tray; kettle ht. 12 3/4 in., approx. 270.6 troy oz.
Tray with slight surface abrasions consistent with usage. Waste and coffeepot with pinprick dents to underside of foot (not visible). Covered sugar with slight abrasion to edge of lid and two long dents to lower body with three small pinprick dents directly below shallower one. Creamer with small shallow dent to lowest register of decoration. Teapot and kettle with very slight pinprick dents to lower body. Teapot with shallow indentation to one side of spout. Kettle with small indentation to bottom of spout and to one leaf in lowest register. One kettle stand foot slightly bent (still stable) and burner with break to hinge with 1/2 purposeful abrasion to lower half. Coffeepot, kettle and teapot with shrinkage cracks to ivory heat stops. Tray handle to handle lg. 28 1/2"; lg. 24 1/4"; width 18 1/4".
