Pair of Portraits of Sarah H. Stevenson and Mr. Stevenson. Unsigned, the sitters identified in inscriptions on the reverse and on the back of the frame as being from "Argle, N.Y." Watercolor and graphite on paper, 14 x 10 in., framed. Condition: Subtle mat stain on one, otherwise good.
-the female is identified in ink on the reverse of the watercolor paper as Sarah H. Stevenson, inscriptions are indiststinct on the the reverse of the man (erased or faded). On the paper backing of the frame is inscribed "Sarah Stevenson Argle N.Y". and "Mr. Stevenson Argle N.Y." the paper appears to have been professionably cleaned. Has Old Print Shop labels on verso. There is a very slight mat stain on Sarah's portrait.
