Stamped "K.GIBRAN" on self-base.
Brazed iron wire, height 15 in. (38.1 cm).
Condition: Dust and dirt, natural distress to finish.

Literature: Sculpture, Kahlil Gibran, with a foreword by Dr. Evan H. Turner (Boston: The Bartlett Press, 1970), pp. 30-1 (illus.).

N.B. The lot is accompanied by a letter from Kahlil Gibran from 1997 providing an appraisal for the sculpture and by a copy of the monograph Sculpture, Kahlil Gibran (in which the sculpture is illustrated) signed and dated "Kahlil Gibran/1971" in ink on the front page.
