Description:

Brass-bound Rosewood Lap Desk, 19th century, the top and front of case with inlaid circles between two bands, with hinged fold-out velvet-inset writing surface above two large storage compartments, pen rest, two covered compartments, and two glass inkwells, rear lifts to expose drawers with turned ivory pulls, ht. 7 1/2, wd. 19 1/8, dp. 12 3/4 in.
Estimate $300-400

Mechanism to lift rear section of drawers does not work, so they cannot be opened. Age typical nicks, scuffs, and wear to exterior of case. Velvet frayed at edges with some discoloration.
