Victorian Brass-bound Coromandel Lap Desk, England, mid-19th century, the Gothic-style brass strapwork formed as a double cross, the hinged slant-cover enclosing velvet-inset writing surface with a large storage compartment beneath, with additional fitted compartments for writing implements and one glass inkwell, lock by C. Betjemann & Sons, London, with key, ht. 4 1/8, wd. 13 7/8, dp. 9 7/8 in.

Small minor chips to veneer. Deterioration to velvet, particularly along hinge. Lacking other inkwell.
