Ellicott Triple-case Gold and Enamel Watch, London, c. 1782, no. 7776, the outer case with bull's-eye crystal opens to a gold and enameled case hallmarked with John Terrill Paine's mark, and 1782, the back with classical scene within a central oval frame with blue and green enamel, engraving, and raised work, porcelain dial with Roman numerals, swing-out key-wound movement with dust cover engraved 7776 Ellicott London, chain fusee cylinder-escapement movement marked by maker as above with steel balance, pierced balance cock, and diamond endstone, cased dia. 53 mm.
Note: This is likely the work of Edward Ellicott, as John Ellicott died in 1772.
