One single-sided sheet, framed, typed on White House stationery. To Francis A. McLaughlin, an old friend of Kennedy's grandfather in East Boston, thanking him for complimenting the President's inaugural address, some slight discoloration to the paper, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 in.
"Dear Mr. McLaughlin: Many thanks for your heart-warming letter. Your commendation of my Inaugural address is especially gratifying to me because it comes from you -- a Lieutenant of Grandfather Kennedy 60 years ago in East Boston. I hope my future record will sustain the confidence you express.
