Two Modern Works:

Peggy Cyphers (American, b. 1954), The Cardplayers, 1984-85, incised signature and date "P. Cyphers 1985" on top panel l.r., also titled, signed, and dated "...P. Cyphers 1984" on the reverse, mixed-media diptych (top panel oil on Mylar mounted to Masonite, bottom panel oil and spray paint on mineralized tar paper mounted to board), 26 x 32, framed, (good); and Hunt Slonem (American, b. 1951), Untitled Still Life with Sea Turtle, signed and dated "Hunt Slonem '81" l.r. and numbered "H.C. 2/10" l.l., serigraph, image size 27 5/8 x 36 in., unframed, (margin creases, tear to Canada goose, surface abrasions).

Provenance: Estate of Jonas Aarons, New York.

N.B. Cardplayers relates to Galaxy's Empire, 1986, formerly of The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection and now with The Columbia Museum of Art, South Carolina.
