Initialed "HM." l.r., with an impression of a female portrait on the reverse.
Conté crayon on spiral-bound paper, sheet size 10 7/16 x 8 1/4 in. (26.5 x 21.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Left spiral-bound edge.
Provenance: By descent within a New England family.
Literature: Jean Cassou, Henri Matisse, Carnet de Dessins (Paris: Huguette Berès, Berggruen & Cie, 1955), Vol II (illus.).

Former paper tape hinges affixed to top edge verso, mounted by clear photo corners; subtle rippling; minor skinning to sheet along bottom and right edges, probably from former tape mounting measuring less than 1/8 in. wide; no additional condition issues to report.
