Signed "George W. Harvey" l.l., titled "...founded July 1628" and inscribed "300
years old" in pencil on the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 20 x 24 in. (50.7 x 61.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Puncture l.c. with paint loss, craquelure.

Provenance: Collection of Cheryl and Paul Scott, New Hamphire, from George W. Harvey, Annisquam Sanders & Mock Auctions, Tamworth, New Hampshire.

N.B. While the artist's inscription gives the date as 1628, the Annisquam Village Church web site provides the date of their founding as 1728. (http://annisquamvillagechurch.org/About.htm)

Inscribed "Roger/Webber" on the reverse. Frame bearing a label from Irving & Casson, A.H. Davenport Co., Copley Square, Boston, on the reverse.

The puncture measures 3/8 in. overall, including the surrounding paint loss, and is located l.c. 3 1/4 inches up from the bottom.
