Signed and dated "C.H. Gifford 1896." l.l., identified on labels from the Old
Dartmouth Historical Society Whaling Museum, New Bedford, Massachusetts, and The Katonah Gallery, Katonah, New York, on the frame backing paper.
Watercolor on paper, sheet size approximately 17 1/4 x 27 1/7 in. (43.8 x 69.2 cm), framed.
Condition: Sheet laid down on paperboard support, support mounted to window mat with linen tape at the corners.
Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.
