Condition: Scattered retouch, craquelure, surface grime.

Original canvas trimmed of tacking edge and lined. Lining appears quite old. Stable craquelure overall, with faint stretcher bar marks and scattered abrasions. Old retouch to darken pupils, nostril, and eyebrows on the face; a scattered cluster of dots(now showing as tan pigment) at the proper right neckline of the garment and a brushed patch of retouch, about 2 inches wide, abover the sitter's proper right shoulder.

The frame has missing or detached pieces, some of which have been preserved and accompany the lot. This includes two of the corner ornaments.
