Saint Apollonia with Martyr's Palm Being Crowned with Roses
Unsigned, inscribed "S.Polonia V. m." u.l.
Oil on canvas, 63 x 90 in. (160.0 x 90.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, surface grime, canvas seamed along left edge.
Estimate $700-900

Canvas seamed vertically top to bottom on the far left, 6 inches in from the left side, with horizontal seams in several short segments over to the left edge. Retouch to the figure's face, from the hairline following along the edge of the cheek, down to below the chin. Retouch also around the figure's eyes, cheek, and under her nose. Craquelure, abrasions, and old paint losses. Long drips of varnish visible under UV light.
