The Circumcision in the Stable, 1654, probably an early 18th century impression (Hind, 274; Bartsch/Hollstein, 47 I/II). Signed and dated within the plate, collector's marks (see below) and pencil annotations to the reverse. Etching on laid paper, plate/sheet size 3 7/8 x 5 3/4 in. (9.6 x 14.5 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Trimmed to and/or within the plate mark, soft, gray impression, subtle surface rubbing, upper corners reinforced.
Provenance: Ex-collection of Herman Weber, Bonn, 1817-1854, (Lugt, 1383); through to August Artaria, Vienna, 1807-1893, (Lugt, 33); through to the present owner.
