Description:

Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)

Man's Face, 1966, edition of 500 (Ramie, 539). Unsigned, dated within the matrix, stamped "MADOURA PLEIN FEU" and "EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO" and numbered "52/500" on the back. Red earthenware clay with engobe in black, 6 1/8 x 3 7/8 in. (15.5 x 9.8 cm), presented in a Plexiglas box.
Condition: Not examined out of box.

Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.

N.B. The image is based on a composition transfered from a linoleum printing block.
Estimate $1,200-1,800

The work has not been removed from its frame. There is minor soiling to the figure's nose.
