Provenance: From the Gene Peterson Shaker collection, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The Petersons began collecting Shaker artifacts in the 1950s. Gene bought this from Marie Hamilton, a friend of the Shakers and a well-known Shaker dealer from Lenox, Massachusetts.
