Laura Coombs Hills (American, 1859-1952)

Portrait Miniature of Louisa Barbour of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Signed "Laura Hills 1920" l.l. Watercolor on ivory, oval portrait, 4 x 3 in., in a chased gilt-brass pendant case which sits in a hinged leather case. Accompanied by a fragment of a receipt for the miniature, handwritten by Laura Hills. Condition: Very good.

The portrait miniature is in very good condition. There are no losses, cracks, chips, scratches, or any other problems with it. The chased gilt brass case is also in very good condition.
Leather covered case only: The oval leather-covered hinged case shows a lot of wear, most of the leather is worn off on the two sides, there's a crack on the edge of the case and the hinge has lost its original pin.
