Description:

Paint-decorated Sideboard, attributed to the Loomis workshop, Shaftsbury, Vermont, c. 1825-40, the rectangular top above two short drawers and long drawer, with two recessed hinged doors below flanked by ring-turned swelled pilasters continuing to turned feet, ht. 48 3/4, wd. 49, dp. 20 in.

Estimate $1,500-2,500

edgewear; abrasions; scratches; one mediium gouge on the right column; the big drawer was yellow at one time and has been overpainted in red. The red spots on the top drawers are paint splatters, probably from when big drawer was being painted. There is no yellow paint underneath the red paint on the top and sides.
