Early Hans Wegner Armchairs
Oak and upholstery
Denmark, design date c. 1939
Oak frame with upholstered armrests and seat in green woven cloth, ht. 34 1/8, wd. 23, dp. 18 in.
Note: Hans Wegner worked for Erik Møller and Arne Jacobsen until 1943, helping with their design for the Åarhus Town Hall in Denmark, and incorporating some of his own designs. It is believed that this design was a collaboration for that effort, and never put into production. Literature: Noritsugu Oda, Danish Chairs, p. 54.
