Gothic Revival Coromandel and Brass-mounted Tantalus, c. 1875, retailed by Tiffany & Co., Union Square, the case of knife box form, with sloped lid and curved front, mounted with engraved brass strapwork, and side lifting handles, the velvet-lined interior fitted with three colorless cut glass decanters with faceted ball stoppers, ht. 10 5/8, four cordial stems, ht. 3 1/2, and two tapered beakers, ht. 3 5/8, case ht. 14 1/4, dp. approx. 11 1/2, wd. 11 in.

2"-3" of veneer missing along top edge of either side of doors; lock mechanism missing; lid is bound so it doesn't close completely, some age typical cracks to veneer at cover; 3/8" chip to edge of cover; some scuffing and overall usage wear; three decanters match, with all glasses mismatched, bottom decanter mount is not attached.
