u.l., identified on a presentation plaque, inscribed and dated "LOUIS KRONBERG PARIS/ GRUPA VALENCIANA...MARCH 7 1932/...," identified on a label from the Boston Art Club (see below), and export stamped "DOUANE/EXPORTATION/PARIS/CENTRALE" on the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 46 x 32 in. (116.8 x 81.3 cm), framed.
Condition: Surface grime.

Washes of retouch (pigment fluorescence), possibly by the hand of the artist since no repair is evident, to skin of the face on the cheek and jaw, and to her back. Washes of retouch to the left hand and elbow, and more extensive retouch to the right upper arm, particularly in the area of shadow. Reinforcement to the signature u.r.
One period label inscribed "No. 1/ Grupa Valencia/ Louis Kronberg/ c/o W.S. Budworth & Son, New York".
The outer dimensions of the frame are 50 1/2 x 37 inches.
