Oil on panel, 29 x 23 1/4 in. (73.7 x 59.1 cm), in a period frame.
Condition: Alligatoring, fine craquelure, minor abrasions beneath frame liner.

N.B. The work appears to relate to Lesende Frau I, II, and III in Lajos Vegvari's, 1958 monograph, Munkácsy Mihály élete és muvei [The Life and Work of Mihály Munkácsy].
Subtle varnish inconsistencies to u.l. corner, losses/abrasions to edges beneath frame liner, beveled panel along all four sides to reverse.
PROVENANCE: The work comes from a collecting institution, where it has been since about 1970.
