on a presentation plaque.
Oil on panel, 44 x 26 in. (111.8 x 66.1 cm), framed.
Condition: Split to panel (repaired) left side, retouch.

Provenance: Sotheby Parke Bernet, Los Angeles, Old Master and 19th Century European Paintings and Watercolors, October 15, 1979, Lot 22, Property of the Estate of Alfred S. Karlsen, Los Angeles, to current owner.

Bowed panel, extensive but fine dots and dashes of retouch throughout, predominately to the girl's skirt, hand and cheek; two vertical wooden strip reinforcements to the reverse--one over a complete split with resulting retouch, located 8 inches in from the left edge, and one over a partial split.
