Willard van Dyke (American, 1906-1986)
Easter, 1932. Titled, dated, and signed "...Negative and print, Willard Van Dyke" in pencil on the reverse of the mount. Gelatin silver print, sheet size 9 1/4 x 7 1/4 in. (23.4 x 18.5 cm), matted, unframed.
Provenance: From the collection of Austin Lamont, by family descent.
There are a number of pin-point and smaller white spots in the print
(the largest of which just indents into the surface. This are on and to the right of the base on the leaves. Thee is a similar thread-like mark (1 mm) near the left edge on the print. The is a subtle surface rub, about 1/2 inch long near the lower right corner.
Photograph is mounted to heavy mat board support, measuring 17 x 14 inches.
Mount is inscribed in pencil verso "Easter, 1932/negative and print/Willard Van Dyke" u.l. and with an inventory number "1991-19/22/WV9/0907" l.r.
