Continental Baroque Walnut and Inlaid Chest of Drawers, with antique elements, rectangular top with canted corners at front, each accented with inlay of fleur-di-lis and stylized hearts, with three drawers carved with raised paneling with further stylized fleur-di-lis inlay, cast brasses, the sides of case inlaid with starbursts, with paneled base on bun feet, the top drawer modified as a drop-down writing desk fitted with four small drawers, ht. 43, wd. 47, dp. 24 in.

Top with large shrinkage crack with some associated small areas of wood loss, spots of worming, worm holes throughout, small area of repair to right front corner of top, top drawer modified as a fall front writing surface as noted in catalogue description, small area of wood loss to right side edge trim, approx. 2 x 1/4 in., right side of case lacking one section of inlay to the perimeter of the starburst medallion, approx. 4 x 1 in., age typical surface scratching, edge nicks and gouges, finish inconsistencies, and some evidence of french polish.
